Miriam Ponsa autumn-winter 2013/14

Transhumància is the new collection for the next autumn-winter 2013/14 presented by the Catalan designer Miriam Ponsa during 080 Barcelona Fashion. While Ponsa proposals tend to refer to our traditions and culture (like castellers, the Catalan human towers, or mushroom hunters), this time her inspiration comes from shepherds and flocks in relation to the continuous movement and the animal migration. For this purpose has used natural fabrics as wool, silk and cotton in black and neutral colours standing out a brilliant hard work with wool for which she has even required special knitting needles; beautiful XL knitted sweaters full of volume and density and jackets featuring the braiding technique used in wicker baskets. The most interesting collection of this designer so far, and the one that won the prize for best collection of this 11th edition. Congrats, Miriam!

Bajo el nombre Transhumància, la diseñadora catalana Miriam Ponsa presentaba su colección otoño-invierno 2013/14 en el marco de la 080 Barcelona Fashion. Si bien las propuestas de Ponsa acostumbran a hacer referencia a nuestra cultura y folklore, como han sido castelleres o buscadores de setas, los protagonistas de esta ocasión son los pastores y rebaños en relación al movimiento continuo y la migración animal. Para ello, ha recurrido a tejidos naturales como lanas, sedas y algodones en negro y colores neutros entre los que resaltaba un esmerado trabajo en lana para el que incluso ha requerido de agujas especiales; preciosos jerséis tricotados XL llenos de volumen y densidad y chaquetas que muestran la técnica del trenzado utilizada en los típicos cestos de mimbre. La colección más interesante que hemos visto de esta diseñadora hasta la fecha, y la que resultó ganar el premio a la mejor colección de esta 11ª edición. ¡Felicitats, Miriam!
